It’s been a week since the T20 World Cup 2021 ended, but the buzz around it is still alive! So today we look at the 5 highest individual efforts by batters in the tournament!
#5 – Kane Williamson (NZ)
Regular NZ skipper played a whirlwind knock of 85 off just 48 balls which helped his team reach a respectable 172 for 4 in the final.
He started off slowly but then shifted the gears and did not look back once he did!
#4 – David Warner (AUS)
The southpaw roared back into form in this tournament, even getting the Player of the Tournament award! He scored a brilliant 89 runs off just 56 deliveries in a Super 12s game against the West Indies.
This match all but sealed Australia’s semifinal berth, so it was a very crucial knock.
#3 – Martin Guptill (NZ)
The Kiwi opener had a brilliant World Cup as he top-scored for the Kiwis in the tournament. In a Super 12s game against Scotland, Guptill smashed 93 off just 56 balls.
This helped his team to reach a fighting score of 172 for 5, and they won the game by 16 runs in the end!

#2 – Rassie van der Dussen (SA)
South Africa were probably the unluckiest team in the tournament, as they missed out on a semifinal berth due to an inferior net run rate to Australia’s.
However, in their final game, they defeated the hitherto-unbeaten England side by 10 runs. A large part of the victory was because of Rassie’s blistering 94 off just 60 balls, in which he hit 5 fours and 6 sixes!
#1 – Jos Buttler (ENG)
Buttler is widely regarded as the best white-ball batter in the world currently. He ended the World Cup with the second-highest number of runs scored.
His most impressive knock in the tournament came against Sri Lanka in a Super 12s game. He scored 101 runs off just 67 deliveries, hitting his maiden T20I century. He also became the first Englishman to score a century in all 3 formats, with this hundred!
This was the only century of the tournament, and also its highest individual score!
