WWE Superstars in Movie: Many of the WWE Superstars have tried to make a career shift from wrestling to acting but only a miniscule of them have succeeded. Many of these WWE superstars still make appearances on the WWE network at massive events like The Royal Rumble and the Wrestlemania. Here are 5 WWE superstars who’ve made it big in the Hollywood Industry:
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson:
Starting as the lead actor from “The Scorpion King” in 2002, Dwayne Johnson has collectively worked with big time Movie franchises like The Fast and Furious and Jumanji. The Rock has portrayed the role of Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious Franchise and also appeared in single movies like Skyscraper, G.I Joe, San Andreas etc. In 2016, Dwayne Johnson became the highest paid actor in the World as per the report of Forbes. Dwayne Johnson has achieved so far in his life by excelling at both wrestling as well as acting.
John Cena:
John Cena, unlike Dwayne Johnson took some time to launch his career as a successful actor. The wrestler whom you can’t see will make his reappearance in WWE at the Wrestlemania 2023 due to his busy acting career now. John Cena played a small role in the movie Trainwreck in 2015 followed by his voice role in the animated movie Ferdinand. Cena would make his big break in Fast and Furious 9 where he’d be portraying the role of the villain Jakob Toretto, Dominic Toretto’s brother.
Dave Bautista:
Dave Bautista struggled with minor roles at the beginning of his acting career before appearing in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 as Drax. Another known movie franchise he appeared in was James Bond’s Spectre in 2015 with Daniel Craig as the lead actor where Dave had a minor and violent role of Mr. Hinx. Dave appeared in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 in 2017 and after that he was present in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War in 2018 and Marvel’s Avengers: The Endgame in 2019. Dave would be seen in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 in the future.
Kevin Nash:
Kevin Nash made his acting debut in 1994 in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze where he portrayed the role of The Shredder, obviously the name suits with Kevin Nash’s persona too. He also played another role of The Russian in Marvel’s Punisher in 2004. Kevin Nash along with the Great Khali, Bill Goldberg and Steve Austin appeared in the 2005 movie The Longest Yard. Kevin Nash did some Television roles before finally hitting his big break in the 2014 movie John Wick.
The Great Khali:
The Great Khali made his acting debut in the movie The Longest yard in 2005 with Steve Austin. He played another key role in the 2008 movie Get smart. He then appeared in Indian Big Boss’ season 10 where he came out to be as the runner up candidate. The 7 foot 1 inch giant also appeared in a French movie and a Hindi movie in 2010 named “Kushti” with Indian actor Rajpal Yadav which turned out to be a flop movie.
