On that given day, the expression ‘Men vs Boys’ is the call of the hour and it is these one-sided contests that we talk about.

Today, we look at the top 5 biggest wins of the European season 2021-22, which captured the headlines due to the overpowering score-line on show.

Bremer SV 0-12 Bayern Munich (DFB Pokal Round 1 25th August 2021)

It was the opening round of the DFB Pokal where Bayern Munich began their title defence against Bremer SV.

What followed was nothing short of a nightmare for the hosts as they got beat not by one, two or three but rather by 12 goals.

Choupo-Moting led the champions off to a winning start by scoring 4 goals followed by Musiala’s brace.

Warm scored an own goal as well along with strikes from Tillman, Sané, Cuisance, Sarr and Tolisso completing the show.

It was such an easy night for Bayern that at half-time, they were leading 5-0. Yet, they wanted to make the score-line more emphatic.

This was one of the worst night’s not only for Bremer but for any footballing side coming up against the ruthlessness of Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid 6-1 Mallorca (La Liga 22nd September, 2021)

Los Blancos were in the mood on that day as they slammed 6 goals past Mallorca pick up an emphatic and dominant start to the season.

Lee’s first half effort for Mallorca felt nothing more than a consolation effort and the end of full time, as Madrid ran riot in their 2nd home game.

Rennes 6-0 Clermont Foot (Ligue 1 22nd September 2021)

But what happened next was nothing short of pleasing for the French side, as they put 6 goals past newly promoted, Clermont Foot to pick up a win.

Martin began the rout with a 32nd minute effort followed by Terrier’s goal 4 minutes later as Rennes led 2-0 at half time.

Sulemana scored 2 goals in the space of 2 minutes in the second half to make it 4-0 before Laborde and Tait completed the night with their goals.

This was a statement of intent by Rennes as they hoped to kickstart their campaign.

Since then, Rennes has not lost a single match and are currently 5th in the table with 22 points. Post the win, Rennes has won 7 matches across competitions and drawn only 2.

Chelsea 7-0 Norwich (EPL 23rd October, 2021)

Chelsea hosted bottom placed, Norwich City in the EPL on Matchday 9 and were on the back of a hat-trick of wins.

After a 4-0 win in the UCL in mid-week, Chelsea looked to continue the good work and made sure it did happen as they slammed 7 goals past Norwich.

It was as emphatic and easy a victory as it could get for the Blues as the win stamped their mark on the title race.

Mason Mount scored his first Chelsea hat-trick in this clash along with goals from Hudson-Odoi, James, Chilwell and Aarons (og).

Such was the clinical and dominating display from the Blues, that they took a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Thomas Tuchel had registered his best Premier League win since becoming Chelsea boss with that statement of intent worthy performance.

Manchester United 0-5 Liverpool (EPL 24th October, 2021)

Liverpool came, saw and conquered Manchester United in absolute ruthless fashion as they rammed home 5 goals in this one.
