Bundesliga Results: Robert Lewandowski scores hat-trick as Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2, stay on top of the table


Bayern Munich completed a memorable turnaround as they came back from 0-2 down to win 4-2 against Borussia Dortmund in ‘Der Klassiker’ at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
It was the Battle of No 9’s as both Haaland and Lewandowski found the back of the net but it is was ultimately the Polish striker who scored a hat trick to get to 31 goals in the season and complete a scintillating win.
Haaland scored a brace while the substitute Goretza scored too for the Bavarians.
ImageDortmund shocked the reigning champions within 2 minutes when Haaland got the visitors off to the perfect start by firing from the edge of the box to find the back of the net courtesy a slight deflection off Boateng on its way to goal which allowed the ball to beat Neuer.
Bayern were in even more trouble when Haaland made it 2-0 after latching onto Hazard’s low cross and stabbing home to put the visitors into dreamland. It was a perfect team goal.
Bayern Munich slowly got back into the contest by stinging in a few passes and holding up play, getting themselves into the game.

Bundesliga Results: Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski and Gnabry net twice to beat Köln by 5-1

It was the Polish striker in Robert Lewandowski who pulled one back in the 26th minute, when he fired Sane’s low ball across the face of the goal and into the back of the net to score his 29th goal of the season.
Lewandowski made it 2-2, when the home side received a penalty just before the first half ended as Dahoud brought down Coman with an outstretched boot. The Pole scored from the spot to make it 30 for the season.
In the second half, the hosts waited till the 87th minute to complete the comeback take the lead 3-2 when Goretza found the bottom left corner with a precise strike.
The icing on the cake was put when Lewandowski took a touch of Davies’s ball and placed his effort beyond the reach of Hitz to make it 4-2 and complete an amazing win in the 90th minute and score number 31 for the season.
Dortmund will be concerned as Haaland was forced off with a foot injury during the second half. The away side will be sweating on his fitness hoping to have the Norwegian in time for the second leg of their Champions League tie against Sevilla.
Bayern were much more dominant in the second half and a few chances to take the game out of sight but they will not mind one bit given the result.
This win gives Bayern Munich a strength hold at the top of the table with 55 points. Borussia Dortmund stay sixth with 39 points.
