FA Cup Result: Iheanacho scores brace as Leicester City beat Manchester United 3-1, qualify for the semi-finals

Leicester City cruised into the semi finals of the FA Cup with a comprehensive 3-1 win over Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
The Foxes will play their first semi-final of the FA Cup in 39 years courtesy a brace from Iheanacho and a strike from Tielemans.
Manchester United had a lifeline when Mason Greenwood pulled one back for the visitors but it was not enough.
The away side start proceedings on a bright note as they pinned Leicester down in their own half.
The Foxes slowly clawed their way into the game by stringing a few passes, building up play and soon began dominating.
Iheanacho had the first big chance of the game when his shot was saved by Henderson following a good passage of play.
ImageBut then Leicester took the lead in the 24th minute when Fred’s poor back pass was caught by Iheanacho, who then strolled it home to put the home side 1-0 ahead.
It was an absolute schoolboy error which United would be very disappointed with. An avoidable goal to concede under the circumstances.
United immediately responded with a strike from Martial, which was saved easily by the Leicester number 1, Schmeichel.
The Red Devils slowly got a foothold in the match after conceding early and were rewarded when Mason Greenwood equalized in the 38th minute.
Pogba started the move with a pull back from the left- hand side, which Van de Beek let roll through his legs for Greenwood, who was behind to lash home.
ImageIn the second half, it was the home side who started off better and within 7 minutes of the restart, Leicester scored their second of the night as Tielemans was not closed down quick.
The Belgian took the ball and kept running before striking into the bottom left corner to make it 2-1 to the hosts.
Vardy had his moment to seal the deal but his shot was lashed just wide.
The Manchester United boss got on Bruno Fernandes and Cavani to provide impetus to the play and make a difference but it seemed too late.
Kelechi IheanachoLeicester sealed their place in the semi-finals with the clincher as Iheanacho rose highest and unmarked to Albrighton’s freekick and headed home to send the Foxes into dreamland.
Once the third goal was scored, it was pretty much over by the shouting as United shoulders dropped and played for the whistle.
Leicester sealed an incredible and well deserved 3-1 win to send Manchester United crashing out of the FA Cup as the Red Devils have lost another shot at silverware this season.
ImageUnited’s approach and play during the entire proceedings was lackluster and anything but a loss would be undeserving for the hosts.
Leicester City will play Southampton in the semi finals of the FA Cup in April.
As for United, it is the Europa League, where they will need to give it their all if they have any chances of silverware this season.
