Griezmann’s goal enough as France beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0; rise to top of Group D standings

Antoine Griezmann’s deft header at the hour mark was enough as France beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0 in a tightly fought contest at the Sarajevo on Wednesday to notch up their second win of the campaign.

Les Bleus came into this contest following a draw and a win their first 2 matches but were far from inspiring as they held on to a crucial goal on the 60^th minute to seal the points.

In the first half, both sides put pressure on each other in the initial minutes as it was a cagey affair.

Todorovic struck for Bosnia within a few minutes later to keep Lloris on his toes as the French skipper dived to divert the ball from going into the top corner.

Once again, the keeper was up to the task to keep out a header from Bosnia as Lloris made a brilliant close-range save.

The remainder of proceedings was pretty ordinary as neither sides created any big chances to test the keepers.

Bosnia and Herzegovina would be happy that they managed to keep the holders down to only one goal. If not for the goal, a draw was definitely in the offing.
