Hockey Men’s India continue their impressive performance, beats Japan by 5-3 in Tokyo 2020 Olympics
India vs Japan: At the Tokyo Olympics, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team defeated Japan 5-3 in a spectacular match against Japan.
India held a 3-2 lead till the third quarter. The first goal for India was scored by captain Harmanpreet Singh. Gurjat Singh scored in the 17th minute to give India a 2-0 lead. Japan’s Tanaka scored the first goal to reduce India’s lead to 2-1.

Then in the third quarter, Shamsher Singh scored for India in the 34th minute to extend India’s lead to 3-2. But for Japan, Li Watanabe scored to reduce India’s lead again.
Both teams played aggressively in the fourth quarter. India’s goalkeeper Shrijesh P. R made a good defense and made India’s victory easy.
Nilkanth Sharma extended India’s lead in the fourth quarter with a goal, shortly before the end of the match to give India a 5-3 lead.

Japan attempted a comeback with 1 goal in the last 40 minutes. But it was too late. India pocketed the match 5-3 and went one step further towards an Olympic medal.
