Ind vs Eng, 1st Test: India still need 71 runs to avoid follow-on, Ashwin departs for 31, India 306/7

Ind vs Eng, 1st Test Day 4: India fought back valiantly with the help of a partnership between Washington Sundar and R Ashwin. India added round  47 runs so far in the first session, which took the total to 306/7 runs. India still need 74 runs to avoid Follow on.

India is still trailing by 273 runs, 7th wicket hold from India has provided a small breather in the dressing room. Washington Sundar who scored a fifty on debut last month is playing at 58 runs. Ashwin did a great job of wearing the bowlers down. However, Ashwin became the latest victim of Jack Leach and got out on fighting 31 runs.

Dom Bess has been the pick of the bowlers from England. He had 4 scalps yesterday, and it would be interesting to see if he can get his first fifer in India. His modus operandi has been plain and simple, to bowl on the lines of 4th and 5th stumps.

England has dominated so far in the first test match, and they have excellent chances to win it. However, India is yet to dodge the follow on. Pitch has started showing some cracks, and it would be interesting to see if India can save this test match or England takes 1-0.
