IPL 2021: 5 most expensive players in IPL 2021 auctions, check out the complete list

IPL 2021 mini-auctions took place on Thursday 18th February in Chennai. A total of 292 players went under the hammer. We bring you the 5 most expensive player signings in IPL 2021 auctions.

5: Krishnappa Gowtham (9.25 Crores, CSK)

K Gowtham has a lot of years of experience on his resume, and we all know CSK’s preference when it comes to experience. Gowtham became the most expensive uncapped Indian player in the IPL auctions’ history when CSK bought him for INR 9.25 crores.

4: Jhye Richardson (14 Crores, Punjab Kings)

We all saw it coming, didn’t we? Jhye was the golden arm winner in the Big Bash League, and he can also contribute handsomely with the bat at times. Punjab Kings signed him for a whopping INR 14 crores.

3: Glenn Maxwell: (14.25 Crores, RCB)

There were a lot of interested parties for the 32 years old Australian. Rajasthan Royals, CSK, and RCB were in the bidding-war for quite sometime before CSK and RR left the zone at 14.25 Crores, and RCB sealed the deal. Maxwell earlier expressed his views and interests regarding playing under King Kohli and AB de Villiers and RCB management must have seen that interview.

2: Kyle Jamieson: (15 Crores, RCB)

RCB had part ways with Dale Steyn and Isuru Udana which left a void in their pace attack. Who better to fill that role than a 6 and a half-foot tall bloke who can clock at 150 kmph. New Zealand international has shown six-hitting prowess also.

1: Chris Morris: (16.25 Crores, RR)

Rajasthan Royals is the next destination for the South-African all-rounder, but it’s not a new place for him. Morris has represented RR in 2015 as well, and he will be chatting with the familiar people in his new pink jersey. Chris Morris becomes the most expensive player in the IPL auctions’ history.
