IPL 2021 Auction: KKR Strategy, Full squad, Top order, Captain, Amount left in Purse, Check out all details

The stage is all set for the IPL 2021 auctions in Chennai on 18th February. There are numerous variables in KKR’s equation to fix and solve in the auctions. What is fixed though is their budget which is only 10.75 Crores

KKR would have already laid down their IPL 2021 auctions strategy based on the following parameters:

1: A permanent opener:

KKR has gambled a whole season on their opening preparations. While Shubman Gill has been a regular in the opening pair, the other batsman was mostly Sunil Narine and sometimes Nitish Rana. This did not work for them at all as KKR had the worst opening average last season amongst all the eight teams. KKR has Tim Seifert on their roster and they might pair him up with ever-reliable Shubman Gill. Along with this KKR also might be eyeing Dawid Malan. Jason Roy can also be a good option.

2: Back-up for Andre Russel:

Andre Russel can demolish any opponent team with his hitting prowess but his fitness has been a prime concern for the team lately. Russel has been struggling with his fitness and KKR must look for a replacement back-up for him. Shakib-Al-Hasan could be the first choice to fill this role as he has already been part of the same franchise.

3: A senior pacer:

Although the young pacers Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Prasidh Krishna are right on the money for KKR. They still need one more experienced pacer along with Pat Cummins. Chris Morris and Adam Milne would be great options to fill-up this role.

4: Stability of the team:

In the 13th edition of IPL, KKR was the most unstable team. Their opening pair continuously changed, they kept experimenting in middle-order, and even their captaincy changed half-way through the tournament. KKR needs to stabilize their frontline 11 so that they get adjusted to the conditions as soon as possible.
