IPL 2021 Auctions are going on in Chennai today on 18th February. The IPL auctions are always unpredictable and the demand-supply equation keeps moving back and forth. It’s an event, players around the globe wait for as franchises break banks to get them on board. Here we take a look at the 5 most expensive players in the IPL auctions’ history.

5: Glenn Maxwell:

Glenn Maxwell has been one of the favorites amongst the franchises in IPL. A few days back Maxwell expressed his wish to play at RCB under Kohli and AB de Villiers, and interestingly today in auction of IPL 2021, RCB broke banks to get him onboard. Maxwell was signed for a sum of 14.25 Cr INR.

4: Ben Stokes:

In IPL 2017 auctions, Rising Pune Supergiants made Ben Stokes one of the hottest bids ever. He was sold at 14.5 Cr INR, and his performance was certainly in line with this price tag. Stokes scored 316 runs and 12 wickets in IPL 2017.

3: Pat Cummins:

Pat Cummins, with the base price of Rs. 2 Crores, was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs. 15.5 in IPL 2020. Pat Cummins struggled in the initial matches of the 13th IPl edition but as and when the tournament progressed he found his rhythm.

2: Yuvraj Singh:

In IPL 2015, Delhi Daredevils sold their legs and eyes to get Yuvraj Singh. Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals, now) spent 16 Cr INR to get Yuvraj Singh.

1: Chris Morris:

IPL 2021 is already going crazy. First RCB released Morris for 10 Cr INR and then they bid for him in the auctions. MI, RR, RCB all were quite determined to get the bowling all-rounder but it’s the Rajasthan Royals who had the final bid. RR signed Morris at 16.25 Cr INR.
