Man City EPL title: Manchester City clinched the Premier League title last night after beating Villa 3-2 in what was a day of days at the Etihad Stadium.
It was a nervous 75 minutes for the hosts as they were 2-0 down by then and were staring down the barrel until a turnaround in 6 minutes to clinch the title.
Gundogan scored on either side of Rodri’s effort and turned the game on its head to ensure City won their 6th EPL title.
Manchester City have once again proved to be the top team of the land with their convincing performances and ability to win under pressure.
There has been plenty where that came from after another successful season and we look at 6 reasons why City won the title over close rivals, Liverpool.

Guardiola’s side saw Aguero leave at the end of the season and did not enforce their arsenal with another striker.
However, City grew as the season went on and saw a number of players score goals and make more than valuable contributions in pursuit of the title.
From Kevin De Bruyne to Rodri; City posed threats in almost every match. The Belgian finished the season as their top scorer in the EPL with 15 goals.
Sterling and Mahrez followed up with 13 and 11 each. Man City saw had the likes of Foden, Silva, Gundogan and others jack up the scoring chart.
Pep did not make much changes from last season’s title winning squad and was able to continue the excellent form with a core group of players.
This was massive in helping City to the top once again.
Wins against top 6
Manchester City drew both home and away to Liverpool, while beating Manchester United and Arsenal convincingly.
Resolute performances against the likes of Chelsea also helped them stay on top.
2 out of their 3 losses in the league this season were against Spurs. Their strength was tested but eventually, it bore more fruit than flaws.
City’s nonchalance finding the back of the net was their go to point of the season and it got them the success.

This season they found the back of the 99 times; which only goes to show their stamp of authority.
Dazzling, Magical play.
The standard of football played in that particular contest was awe inspiring and poetry in motion.
Any neutral watcher would be floored by that sense of understanding and display of the beautiful game.
From crisp passing to smooth ball control, City had it all in their style of play.
Such a high standard of play is only demanded by champions and Manchester City showed the quality when needed.
However, Liverpool pushed them to the brink once again but could not cross the final hurdle.

City secured 21 clean-sheets this season, 20 of which came from the Brazilian Ederson.
A near flawless performance from the City back-line saw the likes of Walker, Cancelo, Laporte and Dias continue their great form.
Manchester City just conceded 1 penalty in the entire season, which emphasis how disciplined their defence was in the entirety of the season.
The back four once again proved to be the core guard of Manchester City’s successive title win.
Lack of injuries

Just like last season, Manchester City saw rare injuries this season with most of their players fit for the season.
The compliments to the backroom staff and medical team are a must to keep the players in perfect working condition during a gruelling season.
With City competing in 3 domestic tournaments and the UCL; fitness was imperative and City ticked that box.
Comeback ability, pressure wins.

Like always, there are certain games where one needs to grind out the three points and hereto, City was able to get the job done.
City had to eke out narrow wins against the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Brentford and others during a crucial time of the season and succeeded.
The last game against Villa was a testament to their immense powers of snatching a result.
Pep’s side were 2-0 down by the 75th minute, before a six-minute spell sealed their fate to ensure a 3-2 home win, sending Etihad into a tizzy.

Manchester City continued to unravel gems through the season in pressure moments by soaking them all and going for the kill.
