Manchester City beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1, make it 21 straight wins

Manchester City continued on their merry way with a 21st straight win as they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 at the Etihad on Tuesday courtesy an own goal from Dendoncker, Mahrez and a brace from Jesus and sandwiched in between was a goal from Coady for the visitors.
In the first half, it was smooth sailing as City had 75% of the possession showing their domination.
Sterling got Patricio into action in as early as the 2nd minute but he was up to the task.
City drew first blood as Dendoncker‘s own goal gave the hosts a 1-0 lead. He tried to block the incoming cross but due to the pace, stabbed it into his own net.
City almost doubled their lead at the end of the first half but Patricio made another important save from Silva’s low header.
ImageManchester City got a scare when Wolves scored in the 61st minute as Coady dived and got onto Moutinho’s cross to head home for 1-1.
City kept going even after conceding which just showed why they deserve to be champions when Sterling’s backheel went just wide of the far post.
ImagePep’s side did not let it stay for long as Jesus made it 2-1 after Walker cross came of the heel of Dendoncker and fell kindly for Jesus who slotted home.
ImageCity were not finished as Mahrez made it 3-1 with a coolly slotted finish after Wolves play themselves into trouble at the back.
There was still time for one more as Jesus with his second of the night made it 4-1 when he pounced onto the loose ball from Patricio’s save to slot home.
VAR was called in for a check but after initial offside call, it was overturned.
Manchester City did not let the goal concession create any issue as they keep marching on and are now 15 points clear at the top of the table.
The notion of dropped points is an insult for Manchester City.
