Most ODI Defeats: The Sri Lankan cricket team is currently on a tour of England for a limited-over series. After being whitewashed in the three-match T20I series, The Lankan team lost the series by losing the first two matches in the ODI series as well. 

On Sunday, for the last time in this series, the Sri Lankan cricket team will take to the field in front of the England team to save their reputation in the last ODI.

After the retirement of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahila Jayawardene, the level of playing of the Sri Lankan cricket team has been shrinking day by day. Also, After losing the second ODI against England, the Sri Lankan cricket team has become the team with the most losses in One Day Internationals.

Meanwhile, For the first time in the history of cricket, Team India is participating in two bilateral series at a time with two different teams. Recently Arjuna Ranatunga said that the Indian cricket team is sending its weaker side to play against Sri Lanka and it is a matter of insult for Sri Lankan cricket. 1. Most ODI defeats: Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is at the top position in the list of most losses with 428 losses. Sri Lanka played their first-ever ODI in 1975. Since then, Lanka has played 860 international one-day matches. Out of which they have managed to win 390 matches. 5 matches were finished as draws and 37 matches remained without a result.

2. India

Team India, which played its first One Day International match in 1974, has played a total of 993 ODI matches so far. Out of which they have won in 516 and they have to face defeat in 427, while nine matches have been tied and 41 matches have been without results.

3. Pakistan

Another Asian team has made it to the top 3 of this list behind Lanka and India. Pakistan made its One Day International debut in 1973 and has played 936 matches so far. Out of which 414 were defeated and 490 were won.

4. West Indies

Carribians gets the 4th spot in this list with 384 defeats so far. Windies, who played their first One Day International match in 1973, has won the ODI World Cup twice in a row, in 1975 and 1979. West Indies have so far won 404 out of a total of 828 matches, while 10 matches have ended in a tie and 30 matches have not yielded any result.

5. Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe’s team, which is ranked 13th in the current ICC ODI rankings, is present at number five in this list. From 1983 to 2020, Zimbabwe has played a total of 532 matches, out of which they have lost 375 games and won 138 matches. Eight matches ended in a tie and 11 matches had no result.

6. New Zealand

The men in black from the pacific, who recently clinched the title of WTC Sitting at the 6th position on the list. From 1973 to 2021, out of 775, Kiwis have won 354 and defeated in 374 games. Blackcaps have a winning percentage of 48.63.

7. England

In 1971, England played its first One Day International match against Australia. Since then they have won 381 matches out of 757 matches and lost 339 matches. Where 28 matches finished with no result and 9 have been tied.

8. Australia

Australia also played its first One Day International match in 1971. It was the first-ever ODI back in the early seventies. Australia’s most successful team in the cricket world has taken part in 955 matches. Out of which 333 matches have been defeated, while they have won 579 matches. They have the second-highest winning percentage of 63.35 among the Top-10 ODI countries.
