Tom Holland says Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s cameos in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ don’t appear in the script, although there is a catch.
Tom Holland is the man of the moment. The protagonist of Spider-Man: No Way Home is on everyone’s lips after his interview with Jimmy Fallon, and no wonder. Fans of the upcoming Marvel Studios movie are on the lookout for anything Hollywood’s biggest spoiler has to say .
During his participation in The Tonight Show , Tom Holland revealed again that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will not have cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home .
“It would be amazing if they were because they haven’t told me yet. And I’m Spider-Man. I’ve read the script from cover to cover. So it would have been a miracle if they had kept it from me. At the moment, there is no cameo from the two boys. “
The answer is almost identical to what he mentioned to Esquire during the interview in December. According to Holland, “at the moment” there is no confirmation of the cameo, although that does not mean that it will not happen.
The ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ script that Tom Holland read is not the final version
Although Tom Holland mentioned that he read the script from cover to cover and found no trace of the cameos of Maguire and Garfield, that version of the script is not the final one. In another interview Collider conducted , the actor was asked what his reaction had been when reading the script for Spider-Man 3 .
“Well, unfortunately I had to read it in sections because there is an element to be solved as we go through this, as with most of these great films, but it is fantastic.”
Holland’s answer can have many interpretations. The reality is that the production would introduce elements and make changes on the fly , as it happens with other films of the type. It can also be a strategy to hide information from the actor for fear of it being leaked.
During the interview with Jimmy Fallon this point is addressed.
“It’s actually getting to the point where it’s really frustrating. I feel like I’ve progressed. I’m a trusted member of The Avengers and haven’t really leaked anything … Well, there are some things, but they’re not great.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released Christmas 2021 only in theaters. According to Tom Holland, it will be the most ambitious superhero movie ever made.
