Top 5 goalkeepers with most clean-sheets this season, check who ranks at the top

The goalkeeper is the last line of defense and has probably the toughest job on the park as one blip could lead to the ball being in the back of the net even if one makes a number of saves prior to that.
The No 1 along with his defense line always like to keep a clean sheet as it reflects the effort made during training and provides confidence to the entire team in having a trusted backbone.
The last line is always credited at the end of the season with a Golden glove, which is an honor for keeping the most clean sheets in the league.
We are going to have a look at the top 5 players who have kept the most clean sheets across the European Leagues till date this season.
BENOIT COSTIL

ImageThe French goalie has been brilliant for Bordeaux this season with 12 clean sheets in 27 matches.
Bordeaux is placed 11th in the league table and have conceded 33 goals in the season, which is the 5th least owing to the tremendous Costil.
He has improved from last season which is visible in his statistics. He has kept double the clean sheets than he did last season which is testament to his effort, concentration and ability to improve.
JAN OBLAK
ImageThe Slovenia keeper has been exquisite this season with 12 clean sheets in 24 matches in the league as a result of which Atlético Madrid are top of the table.
If Suarez has made the difference in attack then it is Oblak’s captaincy, sturdy and tight defense which has helped Atlético Madrid prevail this season.
He has made 61 saves this season and is still going strong as he hopes to win Atlético the title. The captain has led from the front.

EMILIANO MARTINEZ
ImageThe Aston Villa man has 13 clean sheets in 24 matches in the league which is the second most. This is his first full season after him not getting many chances at his ex- club Arsenal, where he was either sent away on loan or got sporadic appearances for the Gunners.
But now he has proved to be a massive influence for his new club. Villa are 8th in the table as per points but have conceded the 3rd least number of goals this season with 26. An attacking style of keeping is always reassuring and we hope this is the rise of the new Martinez, who deserves all the plaudits.
MIKE MAIGNAN
ImageThe 25-year-old has been the revelation for Lille with his 14 clean sheets in 27 matches that has resulted in Lille sitting on top of the table. Mike Maignan has made 57 saves in the league so far and will hope to keep the last line of defense solid and without any chinks as Lille look to up the ante with the season in its last third.
EDERSON MORAES
ImageManchester City’s no 1 has been the goalkeeper of the season with 15 clean sheets in 25 matches. City, who are on a 20-match winning streak are not only breaking records with their domination but also keeping matters under control at the back courtesy Ederson.
Ederson has been Guardiola trusted man and he has not disappointed. His brilliance was visible in the match against Tottenham when he launched a 70-yard pass from his box for Gündogan, which even got Pep off his chair and surprised. The Brazilian has conceded only 15 goals this season.
His exploits are the back are one of the reasons why City are dominating in the league this year and it gets even better as he is hungry for more.
