Manchester United were held to a goalless draw by Real Sociedad at home as they qualified 4-0 on aggregate to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League.
Real Sociedad had the best opportunity of the game when James impeded Gorosabel in the box to give the visitors a penalty in the 12th minute only for Oyarzabal to steer it wide of the top left corner.
Bruno Fernandes then went close with an audacious strike but hit the crossbar, before James had a close-range header saved by Remiro.
In the second half, Real Sociedad had a chance when Sagnan’s header was hit against the crossbar.

The Swedish was lucky to escape without a red as he caught the face of Bautista with his knee.
It was a competitive contest with both sides having a go at each other but were not clinical in the final third to make any inroads as the match finished 0-0.
United will now travel to the Bridge to play Tuchel’s Chelsea while Real Sociedad play Real Madrid in their respective domestic duties.
