WWE News: The Rock considers it as good option to opt for presidential run

The Rock could actually become The People’s Champion someday.

In an interview with Eric Jensen of USA Today, Dwayne Johnson emphatically stated that he’d seriously consider running for president in the future if there was enough interest from potential voters.

“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” said Johnson. “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”

He also discussed the premiere of “Young Rock,” a new show that’s based on his life. “The Great One” said the series is full of true stories.

“The fun thing about ‘Young Rock’ is everything that people see in this first episode and throughout the season, everything happened,” said Johnson. “Now, what we do is, maybe it happened in a different year, maybe it happened in a different city.”

The Rock would of course not be the first wrestler to venture into politics, although it doesn’t always go particularly well. The most recent major example is Glenn Jacobs (Kane) becoming Mayor of Knox County.

If the dude who hosted The Apprentice can be president, why not The Brahama Bull, the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment, The People’s Champion, The Great One, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? He has my vote, if not for nothing, to see Stone Cold speak at the inauguration and chug a beer on the steps of the Capitol.
