WWE NXT Result & Highlight: 18th May 2021| Bronson Reed New Champion, Tag Team match, Ted DiBiase Sr and more.
WWE NXT Result: The show kicks off with a video preview of today’s match between Toni Storm and Zoey Stark. In addition, Johnny Gargano will risk his NXT North American Champion title in a steel cage match against Bronson Reed.
NXT commentators Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix and Wade Barrett greet the crowd at the Capitol Wrestling Center.
1. Match
Toni Storm defeated Zoey Stark in a modified angle slam
After the match, the hall lights go out and Franky Monet enters the stage with her dog to hype her NXT debut next week.
Backstage: McKenzie approaches Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde on Santos Escobar, but Wilde wants to talk about MSK as they want to get their Tag Team Title Match.
Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa join them and Ciampa reminds that neither MSK nor Legado del Fantasma have been able to defeat them yet. Thatcher says: “Los Gatos no tienes zapatos!” And Ciampa says: “We accept the challenge!”
Earlier Today Video: We see the arrival of Cameron Grimes. He gets out of his vehicle and throws the car key at Jake Atlas because he is supposed to park his car. Atlas laughs and tells Grimes that Ted DiBiase Sr. is occupying his parking lot. Grimes laughs for a moment and then says that Atlas won’t laugh again after their match today.
Video: Reigning NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell relax and enjoy a wellness massage with a face mask in a spa. Meanwhile, the two of them are talking about today’s NXT North American Championship Steel Cage Match between Johnny Gargano and Bronson Reed.
Candice then agrees, because she was right about Dexter Lumis. He appears again and again wherever she is. Both agree that Dexter is a loser. However, Indi does not notice that Dexter is massaging her. Lumis has heard enough and is leaving.

Prime Target “Karrion Kross vs. Finn Bálor” Video: Reigning NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Finn Bálor watch the footage of their last battle and comment on the scenes. Bálor did not underestimate Kross at all. Kross can’t believe that Bálor was able to get out of the choke.
NXT analyst Jimmy Smith explains that Bálor has shown different actions than usual. Bálor regards his conviction as his greatest strength. Kross admits to having proceeded with extreme brutality.
McAfee talks about Kross’ dominance but believes Finn Bálor will regain the NXT Champion title.
Paul Heyman says everyone on SmackDown wants to see this match, even a Roman Reigns. Jimmy Smith sees it as a redemption story for Balor to get his title back, but if he should lose it would be a tragedy for him.
Cameron Grimes comes out and talks about Ted DiBiase Sr. who kept embarrassing him. So he now presents us with the real Ted DiBiase Sr. In the following video we see how many times the Million Dollar Man has failed in the past. Grimes laughs at the video until he goes after today’s opponent Jake Atlas.
2. Match
Jake Atlas defeated Cameron Grimes via rollup – at the end of the act Ted DiBiase Sr. entered the stage and distracted Grimes with his presence
After the match: DiBiase Sr. laughs loudly and then goes back to the backstage area. When Grimes tries to return to the ring, Atlas knocks him off the apron.
Grimes is pissed off and tries to get his hands on DiBiase, but DiBiase is already sitting in his limousine. DiBiase tells Grimes that he’s still not a Million Dollar Man. DiBiase can be driven away.
Video: Bronson Reed mentions his first match on May 18, 2007 and now, 14 years later, he has the biggest match of his life for the North American Championship. Reed talks about his wrestling past until he got here. He won’t let Johnny Gargano seal his fate. He will win and then tell his wife that they made it.
Video: Sports journalist Aresh Markazi wants to hear from Pete Dunne who he wants to face next. He has already defeated Kushida and still has an account with WALTER. The title is his. Dunne has already defeated Johnny Gargano and will do it again. Dunne says he’ll even take on Karrion Kross. He lets his work speak for itself and has never had a bad match before.
Aresh asks Pete about his style because it is similar to MMA. Pete mixes traditional British wrestling with other elements as he wants to make it more violent and aggressive. Finally, Dunne confirms one more time that he wants to get the NXT title.
3. Mach
Killian Dain (w / Drake Maverick) defeated Alexander Wolfe (w / Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) after a cross body – before Wolfe wanted to use a steel chair, but Dain acted faster

After the match: Imperium climb into the ring, switch to pose, but Wolfe is attacked from behind by Aichner and Barthel. The Imperium Bomb against Wolfe follows.
Backstage: McKenzie is with Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonazalez for an interview. In an interview, Dakota says that they are targeting the Tag Team titles. Ever Rise: Matt & Chase walk into the picture and explain that Shotzi and Ember will have a chance to win the title next. Matt & Chase promote their talk show until Matt receives a heavy blow from Raquel.
4. Match
Tag Team Match
Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza defeated Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher after a side Russian leg sweep by Wilde against Cimapa, Ciampa was hammered on the apron by Gibson & Drake
Backstage: Bobby Fish explains in an interview with McKenzie that what he did has nothing to do with Kyle O’Reilly, but with Oney Lorcan and Pete Dunne. He blames both of them for the end of the Undisputed ERA and first wants to get revenge on Pete Dunne. Dunne is supposed to show up next week so Fish can finish it.
Video: We are back in the spa at Candice and Indi’s. The wellness massage has ended and Candice is informed that her credit card has been declined. Candice can’t believe she was rejected.
Both ladies think Austin Theory is to blame for buying so much pizza. Finally, Candice learns that the high bill for the flowers and chocolates came about three weeks ago. Indi is happy because now she knows that she did not get the flowers from Lumis, but from Candice. So he loves her after all!
Backstage: Johnny Gargano declares that Bronson Reed won’t stand a chance against him.
5th Match
Sarray defeated Aliyah (w / Robert Stone & Jessi Kamea) after the Saito Suplex
Video: Shotzi and Ember hyped their future rematch against Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Both are ready for this tough and wild confrontation.
Hit Row: Isaiah Scott, Ashanti Adonis, B Fab, and AJ Francis make their way to the ring.

Tag Team Match
Hit Row: Ashante “Thee” Adonis & Top Dolla (w / Isaiah Scott & B Fab) defeated Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari after a Splash & Suplex from Dolla against Daivari
After the match: Hit Row hypen, before Scott mentions the upcoming NXT North American Championship Steel Cage Match. He doesn’t care who wins, but he’ll see who wins the match.
Backstage: McKenzie Mitchell learns from William Regal that Legado Del Fantasma will face MSK for the title in two weeks. Regal also confirms for next week’s WWE NXT: Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart vs. Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez. Finally, Regal announces that he will bring more cruiserweights to NXT to compete against Kushida.
Backstage: Johnny Gargano and Bronson Reed prepare mentally for their upcoming match.
The last video of the evening advertises Franky Monet’s in-ring debut next week.

NXT North American Championship – Steel Cage Match
Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano (w / Austin Theory) after the Tsunami Splash – Austin Theory intervened several times during the match in favor of Gargano –TITLE CHANGE!
New NXT North American Champion: Bronson Reed
After the Match: The emotional Bronson Reed celebrates his title win. It even sets off fireworks. That ends the show.
