WWE Raw Result & Highlight: 17th May 2021| New 24/7 Champion, Bobby Lashley retains title, Lumberjack match, Kofi beats Randy Orton and More.

WWE Raw Result: Raw starts with a segment from the backstage area: We see the reigning WWE Champion Bobby Lashley with several women.

As usual, Adnan Virk, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton act as raw commentators.

The MVP is in the ring introducing WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Who is escorted to the ring by the five women. MVP claims that Lashley won the Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania Backlash despite an injured fist caused by multiple blows to his challengers.

MVP issues an open challenge for a match against Bobby Lashley. Drew McIntyre then joins Lashley in the ring, saying there couldn’t be a better way to impress the ladies by putting Lashley on the line of his championship against himself. With this, McIntyre accepts the challenge.

He explains, however, that McIntyre did not let him finish. Because the open challenge applies to every superstar except McIntyre and Strowman.

Lashley strikes McIntyre, but the Scottish Warrior ducks and hits Lashley. Lashley leaves the ring and takes off his jacket. MVP calms down the angry Lashley and holds him back.

1st match
AJ Styles (w / Omos) defeated Elias (w / Jaxson Ryker) by DQ after Ryker intervened in the match and pulled Styles out of the ring when he was about to perform the Phenomenal Forearm

After the match: When Omos tried to grab Ryker, this runs to the stage. Meanwhile, Elias attacks Styles. When Omos returns, Elias goes to the commentators for protection …

Backstage: Alexa Bliss greets us with her doll Lilly. She is very excited because in a moment they will have Natalya and Tamina on their show. Lilly can’t wait to get to know both of them.

WWE NXT Video: Johnny Gargano comments on the upcoming NXT North American Championship Steel Cage Match against Bronson Reed on Tuesday at WWE NXT.

Raw Video Review: Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Randy Orton & Riddle defeated AJ Styles, Omos, Elias & Jaxson Ryker after an RKO from Orton against Elias last week. After the match, Orton struck down Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston each with an RKO.

Backstage: Riddle is happy that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods received his letter. The trio (Riddle & The New Day) look around for a snake. Randy Orton stops by and wants to know where Adam Pearce is. He also wants to know why Kofi & Xavier are here. Riddle admits he wasn’t being completely honest so they could meet together. Riddle hopes Orton will apologize for the previous week’s action on The New Day.

Orton clarifies that no apology will be given. Kofi and Xavier say that they would not have accepted an apology from Orton anyway. Kingston warns Riddle that he should take care of himself, otherwise he would end up with an RKO too. Kingston challenges Orton to a match. Orton accepts the challenge.

Backstage: The very scared-looking Tamina and the insecure Natalya are now on Alexa Bliss’ playground. Natalya talks about winning the WWE Women’s Tag Titles, noting that it is Tamina’s first WWE title. Alexa Bliss thinks it’s super duper. Tamina has had enough and asks Nattie if they are going. Alexa says she hasn’t asked the difficult questions so far. Lilly wants to know her favorite color. Natalya goes for pink and Tamina for black and blue, which would look great on Alexa if she tried something crazy.

Alexa thinks this is anything but nice, but Tamina is lucky because Lilly likes her. In the further course, Tamina reports how she put Reginald out of action and she has no problem doing it again if he gets involved in the rematch.

When Alexa continues their conversation with Lilly, Natalya and Tamina walk away. In a further conversation with Lilly, Alexa shares that they wish both of them the best of luck in their match today and that they will be watching.

Asuka can be seen in a video for the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

After the match: Angel Garza grabs the rose and pushes it into Drew Gulak’s mouth.

Backstage: Kevin Patrick speaks to R-Truth. The 24/7 champ has closed his eyes so no one can see him because Truth has heard that there is an open challenge for his title. Patrick explains that a WWE Championship Open Challenge exists. In the further conversation Akira Tozawa sneaks down a flight of stairs … Tozawa rolls up R-Truth … 1 … 2 … 3 …

3rd match
Kofi Kingston (w / Xavier Woods) defeated Randy Orton (w / Riddle) via rollup – before Orton was briefly distracted when Woods played on his trombone

After the match: Riddle tries to keep the peace between Orton and The New Day, but “The Viper “leaves the ring. Riddle has a short conversation with Kingston & Woods. When Riddle is about to leave, Woods grabs his arm. Riddle pushes Woods to the ground. Riddle goes to the backstage area with Orton.

Backstage, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville listen as Lana and Naomi argue with Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke over who should be next in line for a Tag Team Title Shot. Charlotte Flair joins in and explains that they’ve already had a million chances and screwed them all up. “Like you did last night!” Says Mandy. Deville tells the teams that Charlotte has a private matter to discuss with them. Then both teams leave.

Charlotte tells Pearce and Deville that she deserves a singles match against Rhea Ripley and not a triple threat match like last night. It was not pinned and therefore did not lose. Deville said it wasn’t just her decision and they would consider it.

Rhea Ripley also shows up and copies Charlotte as a message from yesterday. Charlotte wants Rhea to watch her match against Asuka today because it will be a preview before she becomes the new Raw Women’s Champion. Ripley will watch the match to see if the Queen falls from the throne …

SmackDown video review: Natalya & Tamina Snuka defeated Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) after Snuka’s Superfly Splash against Jax and became new SmackDown Women Tag team champions.

4. Match
SmackDown Women’s Tag Team Championship
Natalya & Tamina defeated Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (w / Reginald) after the Hart Attack against Baszler – during the match Alexa Bliss entered the stage with Lilly, only a moment later Pyro ignited a ring post, which blinded Reginald and briefly distracted Shayna, the Tag Teams Champs used this for their finisher

After the match: We hear the well-rehearsed laughing sound of Alexa Bliss while Nia takes care of Reginald.

Friday Night SmackDown Preview: The Roman Reigns-Jimmy Uso drama continues. In addition, the Fatal-Four Way Match (Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Big E) for the WWE Intercontinental Championship is being advertised.

Sheamus steps into the ring and talks about the incident with Ricochet on yesterday’s WrestleMania Backlash Kickoff Show. It is switched to the backstage area, where Sarah Schreiber presents the corresponding scene from yesterday evening. We see Ricochet put on Sheamus’s jacket and hat to mock Sheamus.

Ricochet is with Schreiber and confirms to her that he had a lot of fun doing it, but the real fun will come when he silences the Celtic Warrior forever. He briefly leaves the scene and returns with Sheamus’ jacket and hat. Ricochet speaks in an Irish accent before making his way to the stage.

Before the next match: The angry Sheamus runs to the stage to attack Ricochet, but Ricochet takes down the Celtic Warrior with a takedown. Ricochet gets into the ring. When Sheamus reaches the ring, he receives a dropkick. Then Ricochet takes off Sheamus’s jacket and hat and the match starts.

5th Match
Non-Title Rematch
Sheamus defeated Ricochet after a brogue kick

After the match: Sheamus puts on his jacket and hat. He then makes fun of Ricochet before warning Lashley that he might accept the open challenge.

Backstage: We see T-Bar & Mace. T-Bar talks about the possible end of Lashley’s title reign. You flip a coin to determine which of them will enter the ring against Lashley. However, it was not revealed who it will be.

6th match
Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair via roll-up – during the match Rhea Ripley came out and sat down with the commentators, at the end of the argument Asuka kicked “The Queen” of herself, during this action Charlotte Ripley promoted from the apron

backstage: Kevin Patrick asks John Morrison if he can try to explain what happened the night before. Morrison has a foul feeling. It is as if he were dead inside. It is possible that The Miz will never be the same again and therefore dedicate his upcoming match to The Miz.

7. Match
Lumberjack Match
Nikki Cross, Erik, Ivar, Cedric Alexander, Mace, T-Bar, Titus O’Neil, Shelton Benjamin, Akira Tozawa, Mansoor, Mustafa Ali, Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik acted as lumberjacks
Damian Priest defeated John Morrison after the hit the Lights

After the match: Sarah Schreiber conducts an interview with Damian Priest on the stage. For Priest, The Miz and John Morrison are now a thing of the past. Priest also mentions Lashley’s open challenge that he may accept to become WWE Champion.

Backstage: Bobby Lashley warms up …

WWE NXT Video: Bronson Reed is promoting the NXT North American Champion Steel Cage Match against Johnny Gargano.

In the new Eva-Lution video we see scenes from a film shoot. Eva says that she wanted to be a heroine like Angelina Jolie, but now she doesn’t just want to play a heroine, she actually wants to be one. The job of a star is to show people the right way.

Backstage: Shelton Benjamin is interviewed by Kevin Patrick in the backstage area. Benjamin doesn’t want to talk about Alexander, he wants to talk about Lashley’s challenge.

Alexander runs into the picture for a mocking applause. Alexander can’t take Benjamin seriously, reminding him that there’s a reason everyone forsakes Benjamin. Benjamin has heard enough and hits Alexander hard.

MVP stands in the ring, wondering who is ready to take on the challenge. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods come out and Woods points to Kingston.

Mike Rome announces the title match, but before the ring bell rings, MVP announces that neither he nor Lashley have announced that it will be a title match. MVP makes it clear that Kingston is not worthy of a championship match … Kingston grabs Lashley. The referee intervenes briefly before the match starts.

Non-Title Match After the match: McIntyre triumphs on stage with Kingston & Woods, while Lashley stands in the ring holding his title high. That ends the show.
