WWE Spoiler: Edge’s possible opponent for Wrestlemania 37 is somehow revealed after he won his second Royal Rumble

WWE Spoiler: According to a new report from F4WOnline‘s Dave Meltzer, Edge versus Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship is the current plan for WrestleMania 37. During his Daily Update on Monday, Meltzer mentioned that he’s not sure when it would officially be announced, but this match is the planned main event at WrestleMania right now. Meltzer also added that 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair’s match isn’t 100% decided at this time.

Edge won the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble on Sunday and can now challenge RAW’s Drew McIntyre, SmackDown’s Reigns, or NXT’s Finn Balor. While he ultimately confronted McIntyre on Monday’s show, Edge didn’t confirm his decision for WrestleMania 37. He did beat Randy Orton in the main event of RAW, a match dubbed the ‘final chapter’ in their recent rivalry by WWE.

In addition to teasing Bianca Belair’s next move, WWE has since confirmed the “Rated R Superstar” will appear on the February 5 episode of SmackDown, potentially setting up the showdown with Universal Champion Roman Reigns. This week’s episode of SmackDown marks the first appearance by Edge on SmackDown since he hosted “The Cutting Edge” with Becky Lynch on SmackDown 1000 back in October 2018.

If Edge does pick Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent, this would also mark the first SmackDown-sanctioned match he’s had since he competed in a 10-man tag team dark match on April 5, 2011, where he and the team of Christian, Rey Mysterio, The Big Show and Triple H defeated Alberto Del Rio & The Corre’s Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett.

WWE WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event scheduled to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
