SL vs IND 2021:Team India is all set to play a bilateral series against Sri Lanka in July. India will start proceedings on 13 July in the opening game of the series. Sri Lanka will host India for three ODI and as many T-20I in the series.Â
Already the one Indian team is in England to face the English challenge from August. On the other hand, India’s second international team has reached Sri Lanka and started practicing after the completing lockdown period.
In the absence of some important players, it is a good opportunity for the young players who got a chance on the SL tour to prove themselves and try to earn a place in the 1st contingent of the Indian team for the upcoming T-20I World Cup.

SL vs IND 2021:
Devdutt Padikkal:Â
The left-handed stylish opener batsman from Karnataka showed in the last two seasons of IPL what capabilities he had with the bat. Padikkal scored 668 runs in his 21 match IPL career including a hundred in the 2021 season. Hence, he got the opportunity for the SL tour. He can make his debut as an opener with skipper Shikhar Dhawan.
Varun Chakravarty:Â
Varun Chakraborty has been knocking on the door of the Indian National Team for the last 2 years. Before this series, he was selected for the national side earlier. But He had to leave the team for failing the fitness test on a couple of occasions. Now he can get a chance against SL with the Indian spin duo Chala and Kuldeep.
Chetan Sakariya:Â
Chetan Sakariya, who played for Saurashtra in first-class cricket, impressed everyone while playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Due to his strong performance in Syed Mushtaq Ali, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the auction of IPL 2021. Chetan played only 7 IPL matches and those are more than enough to impress the Indian selectors. Now we can see him in the Indian blues sharing a new ball with Bhuvi on the upcoming SL tour.Â
Nitish Rana:Â
Rana is another player who can make his debut during the Sri Lanka tour. He has been a consistent performer in the IPL for the past few seasons. And now highly expected to arrive on the field to make his international debut.
K Gowtham:Â
K Gowtham is mainly known as a T-20 Specialist. The spinning all-rounder from Karnataka didn’t get a chance in the 1st phase of IPL 2021 after selling out to CSK for a record sum of 9.25 crore. But he consistently performs well in the domestic circuit and in IPL whenever he gets a chance as a result selectors pick Gowtham on the National side. He is another player who can make his debut against Lanka.
