5 Reasons that makes KL Rahul more complete Test batsman than Virat Kohli| Check Out

ENG vs IND: Indian team’s star opener KL Rahul made many records by scoring a century in the ongoing Lord’s Test against England. By the end of the first day’s play, the right-handed wicketkeeper batsman had scored 127 runs in 248 balls.

During this he hit 12 fours and 1 six.  However, he was able to add only two runs to his score on the next day of the match and after playing 250 balls, he became the victim of fast bowler Ollie Robinson on the score of 129. This was the sixth century of Rahul’s Test career.

KL Rahul vs Virat Kohli Test

Earlier, he also played a brilliant innings of 84 runs in the Nottingham Test match. Not only this, KL Rahul also scored 101 runs in the three-day warm-up match against County Select XI. KL Rahul, who returned to the Test team after several months, is seen in excellent form on this tour.

On the other hand, Indian team captain Virat Kohli has not scored a single international century for almost the last two years.  In such a situation, he is constantly struggling to return to his form.

Kohli also disappointed in the ongoing Test at Lord’s after he was hit by a golden duck against pacer James Anderson in the Nottingham Test. He played an innings of 42 runs off 103 balls. He was dismissed by fast bowler Ollie Robinson, where captain Joe Root caught his catch.

There is no doubt that Kohli is one of the best batsmen in the world, but the question arises whether KL Rahul is looking better batsman than Virat Kohli at present.  Looking at the recent form, it can be said that Rahul is performing better than Kohli.

Leaving the Ball Art

KL Rahul has done a good job releasing the ball. Most of Rahul’s effort is to avoid hitting the ball outside the off side.  Rahul has been seen leaving the ball outside the off-stump several times on the tour of England, but Virat Kohli has been seen many times losing his own wicket while tampering the ball outside the off-stump. A similar scene was seen in the Lord’s Test, where he was caught by Joe Root at slips while trying to play the delivery of Ollie Robinson.

Good Shot Selection

KL Rahul’s two centuries and 1 half-century on the current tour of England are proof that he has changed his batting technique. Rahul has been seen playing good shots on this tour. He knows which ball to play which shot. At the same time, Kohli is getting out cheaply again and again due to his wrong shot selection. The second biggest reason between the two giants is the selection of good shots.

Proficient in playing long innings

One of the best qualities of KL Rahul is that he plays long innings at the crease.  On the current tour, he batted for a long time in all three innings and made visible strokes. On the other hand, it seems that Virat Kohli has lost his confidence, where he used to play long innings, now this quality is not visible in him. Currently, KL Rahul is playing bigger innings than Kohli.

Doesn’t take too much Pressure

This point also makes KL Rahul a better batsman than Virat Kohli at present.  Rahul is batting without coming under pressure, which is benefitting him in the form of a lot of runs. He has started believing in batting freely. At the same time, Kohli used to bat without pressure, but now this is not visible in him. The Indian captain loses his wicket cheaply under the pressure of the opposition team. If we look at this tour, then Rahul seems to be far ahead of Kohli in this matter.

Learn from your Mistakes

KL Rahul is moving ahead by learning from his past mistakes on the England tour.  He has changed his batting technique and mindset.  So, star wicket-keeper batsman Rahul is batting positively, which is benefitting him.

If we talk about Virat Kohli, then looking at his current performance, it seems that the Indian captain is not learning from his mistakes. If they are learning from this then why are they not able to score runs and if they are not able to play big innings then where is the shortfall.
