Consistency in injuries

The likes of Kante, Diaz, Thiago are major players missing from both squads.
Lack of goals
Liverpool has not seen the best of Salah this season with the Egyptian not being able to replicate form of previous season.
Chelsea’s winter transfer window saw the amount of talent come in but score a total of 4 goals scored since 1st January, 2023.

With these sorts of records, it is surely to impact a team’s growth and progress.
Disinterested players
This is a first especially under Klopp, where the players are not providing the energy and passion while playing.
Players are looking disinterested and looking the grip of the manager which is a poor sign considering another 13 league matches remain.
Charlie Adam:
“Jurgen [Klopp] is still the right man for the job. There’s no one in the world that Liverpool would want to swap him with, he’s a world class manager and we’re lucky to have him in the Premier League.” #lfc [ice36 via liverpool echo] pic.twitter.com/0oEk33OWvd

Liverpool have lacked creativity, strength and tenaciousness which is an ace for them until last season.
The midfield looks tired and attackers lack ability to use their potential.
Chelsea’s problem of plenty
Chelsea brought in 7 players and have a squad size increased to 33 players this season.
Hence, Potter hasn’t been able to figure out a top 11 side he can get onto the park due to which his team has suffered.
Potter has got in the likes of Enzo Fernandes, Felix into the playing 11 but has to leave out Sterling, Aubameyang from them as well.
This has shown the inefficient use of the transfer window in getting the right players for the right positions.
Defence fragile
The two Premier League teams have been defensively fragile across competitions.
Defence is an important aspect about team creation but these two sides have lacked proper leadership in this area of the pitch.
Now with Thiago Silva injured for a while, Chelsea’s defence lacks a leader who can provide the right motivation to his mates.
Likewise, Liverpool’s recent 5-goal concession vs Real Madrid showed their lack of preparation for top teams.
Once a team is 2-0 ahead vs Real Madrid, rarely should they concede the advantage. However, it was not the case for the Reds.
Klopp’s men looked cooked and overpowered, outnumbered by the Spanish side.
