USA 1-0 Iran: USA trumped Iran in a nervy affair on Wednesday as Christian Pulisic scored only goal in 1-0 victory at Al Thumama Stadium.
The Chelsea winger scored from close range to ensure USA a place in the Round of 16 where they face Netherlands in the Round of 16.

USA had the better of Iran in the first half and deserved their goal through Pulisic from Dest’s cross.

Iran could not have performed better in the second half than they did but lacked any efforts on target to trouble Turner, while USA held on without a single shot in the 2nd half.
Iran is eliminated from the competition and USA qualify for the Round of 16 as 2nd place in Group B setting up a knockout clash vs Netherlands.
