Alexis Sanchez to miss group stage matches in Copa America due to muscle injury


Chile forward, Alexis Sánchez is set to miss the entire group stage of the Copa America due to a muscle injury.

The forward suffered the injury during his side’s training session. And will be out of the group stage matches of Chile in the Copa America 2020.

Due to this, he is set to miss Chile’s opening match against Argentina on June 15th.

Alexis Sánchez will stay with the Chile team and complete his rehabilitation with the medical staff as he hopes to return to the side for the knockouts.

Chile also tipped as one of the contenders for the Copa America 2020 title. And would hope to see Sanchez back in the squad.

ImageSánchez has a good domestic season as his contributions helped Inter Milan win their first Scudetto in 11 years in 2020-21.

ImageAlexis scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists in 30 Serie A matches for Inter as they engineered their way to the title under Antonio Conte.

The 32-year-old has played 138 matches for the country and scored 46 goals since his debut in 2006.

The Chile side have a difficult group to contend with as they face Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay in the South Zone of the Copa America group stage.
