MATCH CARD:

Kushida confronts O’Reilly

Last week Kyle O’Reilly watched the match between Kushida and Trey Baxter closely. The Japanese prevailed in a good fight and after the end he had a confrontation with Kyle O’Reilly.

The two fighters will face each other tonight in a heads-up where the cruiserweight division belt will not be at stake. Kushida and O’Reilly have met five times outside of WWE. The battle between the two fighters is three wins for O’Reilly and two for Kushida. The last match between the two fighters was in 2017 at RevPro British J Cup 2017 and ended with Kushida’s victory.

Adam Cole returns to action

After the showdown between Cole and O’Reilly has been confirmed for the next big NXT event, Cole will return to action tonight. The former NXT champion will return to the ring, however, the identity of his rival is not yet known. Everything points to O’Reilly appearing to heat up the situation between the two fighters.

Samoa Joe’s role

Samoa Joe made his return to NXT after several years to be William Regal’s assistant. After NXT TakeOver: In Your House 2021. Regal announced that changes needed. So he featured Samoa Joe as his new assistant on the following show. Joe made his redebut in the gold and black brand facing Karrion Kross. And having a confrontation with almost all the main eventer fighters of the brand.
