All 4 WWE Women’s Champion at the Inaugural Mae Young Classic


The Mae Young Classic was a professional wrestling women’s tournament and WWE Network event produced by WWE, an American-based professional wrestling promotion. The event was named in honor of the late Mae Young, a WWE Hall Of Famer who is considered one of the pioneers of women’s professional wrestling.

The tournament was contested by wrestlers from WWE’s NXT brand and wrestlers from the independent circuit. The winner received the Mae Young Classic Trophy. The Inaugural match of the Mae Young Classic in 2017 had 4 women superstars who currently are the women’s champions.

Now, Let’s take a look at all the 4 Women Champions:

Rhea Ripley: WWE RAW

Rhea Ripley recently won the RAW Women’s Championship from Asuka at the Night 2 of Wrestlemania 37th. She dominated the match with her slams on Asuka and went for the victory towards the end via pinfall. Rhea was so confident about her being the next RAW Women’s Champion that she challenged Asuka as soon as she made her RAW debut.

Bianca Belair: WWE Smackdown

Bianca Belair was crowned the new Smackdown Women’s Champion on the Night 1 of Wrestlemania 37th. She defeated Sasha Banks to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Sasha had her reign for quite a while as the Women’s Champion and now it was the time for Bianca to lift the title.

Raquel Gonzalez: WWE NXT

At the NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver, Raquel Gonzalez beat Io Shirai and won the NXT Women’s Championship. Raquel had a prolonged rivalry with Io Shirai since December 2020. Their rivalry finally ended with Raquel breaking Shirai’s streak of holding the title for more than 300 days.

Kay Lee Ray: NXT UK

Kay Lee Ray is the current NXT UK Women’s Champion and the one with the longest reign as the champion. She has held the UK Women’s title for more than 400 days making it the longest reign. Kay Lee Ray has been nothing but dominant onto the Women’s division at the NXT UK.
