Aston Villa beat Tottenham: Aston Villa picked up a crucial three points as they beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Bergwijn broke the deadlock for Spurs but an own goal from Reguilon and Ollie Watkins’ strike helped Villa overturn the lead and win the match.

FIRST HALF
Tottenham began the first half in the best possible manner as they broke the deadlock within 8 minutes.
ImageSteven Bergwijn opened the scoring for the home side as he drilled his shot into the top corner to send Spurs 1-0 ahead.
He snatched the ball off Nakamba and took advantage in wonderful fashion.
Villa got the equalizer after some patient play through a Reguilon own goal to make it 1-1.
ImageImageThe Spurs defender tried to clear Nakamba’s cross but ended up volleying in comical fashion past Lloris and into his own net.
ImageGrealish made his 1st start after injury and soon got into the game and started dictating terms.
The visitors completed the turnaround to lead 2-1 as we approached half-time.
ImageReguilon’s defensive lapse helped Watkins receive the ball before he lashed home to double Villa’s lead.
Villa nearly made it 3-1 but El Ghazi scuffed his lines at the vital moment to miss the opportunity.
There was still time for one more piece of action as Lloris made a vital save to deny Watkins his 2nd of the night.
It finished 2-1 at half time with Spurs being second best once they conceded the first goal.
Aston Villa picked up the pace through Grealish and took a sizeable lead into the break.

SECOND HALF
Martinez made two excellent saves from Reguilon at the start of the second half to keep Villa ahead.
At the other end, Lloris made an important intervention to stop Watkins from scoring.
ImageVilla were getting stretched as the half grew as Tottenham looked sharper.
The Villa keeper once made a good save from Kane’s strike to keep his side up.
It was Tottenham towards the end as Bale, Son and Kane occupied central positions in an attempt to score.
But Villa defended resolutely and did not let Spurs pass.
Villa came within inches of killing the game as 17-year-old debutant, Philogene-Bidace rattled the post from the edge of the box.

The visitors held on as Aston Villa beat Tottenham 2-1 to grab three crucial points.
Kane seemed visibly upset at the end of proceedings and could well have played his final home game for the North London side.
With this loss, Tottenham remain 6th in the table.
