Australian Open Finals: Djokovic vs Medvedev, When and where to watch in India, Finals Australian Open, Match Prediction, Date and Location; All you need to know

Australian open 2021 Men’s singles final is to be played on 21st February at Rod Laver Arena court in Melbourne, Australia. The world number one Novak Djokovic will try to stretch his Australian open title records to nine but the Russian force Medvedev won’t make it easy. This will be the 8th meeting between the two titans. Here is what we predict for the finals:

Amongst the new generation tennis players, Medvedev has one of the best win-loss ratios against the Serbian professional. Their Head-to-head records stand at Djokovic (4) – Medvedev (3).Djokovic is coming to the finals by defeating Karatsev in the semis, whereas Medvedev defeated Tsitsipas to reach the finals. Interestingly, both the matches were straight-set finishes. Coincidentally, Djokovic and Medvedev both produced 17 Aces in their respective semi-final matches.

Why Djokovic is favorite to win before the match:

Djokovic has won 7 out of the previous 10 editions of the Australian Open.
He has won 8 Australian Open titles in his career and has never lost in the finals of the Australian Open.
He is currently the 1st ranked singles player in the world.

Why Medvedev can win:

In the six matches so far in the tournament, Medvedev has dropped only two sets. Out of those six matches, 5 were straight-set victories for the Russian. His ability to produce ruthless aces and consistency on the court is parallel to none.

Medvedev is on a 20-match win streak and looks unstoppable at the moment.
Medvedev is amongst the players who have played the most matches in the last two years.

Medvedev carries a greater amount of momentum on his side than what Djokovic carries. Amongst the elite list of players, if there is anyone who can beat Djokovic at this moment, it has to be Daniil Medvedev.
