Barbados Royals and Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriot will face each other in the second match of CPL2021 at Warner Park. The Royals are headed by Jason Holder, who led to glory in 2019.
However, in 2020, Barbados was unable to qualify for the playoffs as he finished fifth at the table. For the next season, they got quite a few new faces, including Glen Phillips, Mohammad Amir and others.
Philips has made a deal with Jamaican Tarawa, but will serve the Royals. The Patriots, meanwhile, won one out of ten games last season. Trade-in for Dwayne Bravo and Shelfan Rutherford should enhance their batting.
Chris Gale missed last season, and it’s still unclear how he will mark his return to the Patriots. The team will be captained by Rayad Emrit, who has experience in truck loading with a cash-rich CPL.
Play the combination: Barbados vs St. Kitts
Barbados Royals
Johnson Charles and Glen Phillips need to open the Royals batting in the tournament. Featuring Hope, Mayers, Azam Khan, Perera, and Holders, the Middle Order has enough firepower. Perera and holders are also expected to carry the ball in their hands for delivery. Hayden Walsh Jr. has been exceptionally bowling lately and his role is very important. Responsibility also lies with Mohammad Amir.
Predicted XI
Johnson Charles, Glenn Phillips (WK), Shy Hope, Kyle Mayers, Azam Khan, Tisara Perella, Jason Holder (C), Raymon Rafer / O’Shain Thomas, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh Junior, Mohammad Amir
bench- Justin Greaves, Smit Patel, Raymon Reifer / Oshane Thomas, Nyeem Young, Jake Lintott, Joshua Bishop
Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriot
Chris Gale and Evin Lewis are most likely to start batting Patriot in the first match. Both Thomas and Da Silva can hit the ball a long way, but only one needs to be played. Bopara, Asif Ali And Rutherford gives their mid-range solidity. It will be interesting to see how the two spinners (Faward Ahmed and Fabian Allen) work. Responsibility also lies with Bravo and Sheldon Cotrel.
