MATCH PREVIEW:
Leicester City begin their pre-season with a warmup fixture against Burton on Saturday as the Foxes eye a winning start to the campaign.
The Foxes narrowly missed out on a top 4 spot last season but finished with an FA Cup title to their name when they beat Chelsea in the final at Wembley.
Rodgers has a large pool of players to select from with a number of players having returned from the post Euro 2020 break.
The ex-Liverpool manager will need to ensure the flaws are ironed out as he would not want to once again miss out on a UCL place.
Leicester was well in command but in the last 10 matches of the season, they just drifted away and were edged out.
On the other hand, Burton come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss over Scunthorpe.
The League 1 side face Newcastle and Shrewsbury in their next 2 friendlies before the opener vs Ipswich.
Hence, there is sufficient time for Burton to get their winning mojo back.
Vardy and Co face Wycombe and QPR next before a Community Shield clash against Man City gets the season underway.
Both sides last met in the EFL Cup 2019 which the Foxes won 3-1.
Line-ups
Burton:
Balcombe, Trialist, Morris, Powell, Hemmings, Smith, Patrick, O’ Connor, Shaughnessy, Hamer and Mancienne.
Leicester City:
Jakupovic, Daley-Campbell, Fofana, Benkovic, Thomas, Ndidi, Soumare, Maswanhise, Maddison, Barnes and Vardy.
Prediction: Burton 0-3 Leicester City
Leicester is expected to get the job done comfortably even without their strongest players.
They may begin their pre-season tonight but with the squad depth, nothing apart from a Foxes win is foreseen.
