The clash for European Supremacy takes place as Chelsea faces Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup Final on Thursday.

Chelsea began their UCL season on a poor note but with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, their fortunes changed and were able to maximize their potential in pursuit of glory.

Sevilla, Porto, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and finally Manchester City; all were no match to the brilliance of the Blues as Tuchel’s men won only their 2nd ever UCL title.

The Blues have been pretty good in pre-season as well with 2 wins and a draw against Bournemouth, Arsenal and Spurs respectively.
They have the fire, ammunition and ability to go all the way and this could be a start for them given their main objective would be to win the Premier League and defend their UCL title.
On the other hand, Unai Emery’s men were brilliant throughout their UEFA Europa League campaign last season and finished as worthy champions.
VILLARREAL UEL JOURNEY
Villarreal saw off Red Bull Salzburg, Kiev, Zagreb, Arsenal and Manchester United to win the Europa League title.
This was Villarreal 1st ever European title and Unai Emery’s 4th one as manager which included 3 title wins as Sevilla boss.
Coming into this season, Villarreal’s pre-season has been nothing short of a disaster. They are yet to win a match having lost 3 and draw 3 of their six matches.
In their last match, they managed a 2-2 draw against Leeds; which would raise their hopes but not entirely.

Thomas Tuchel will look to help the Blues win their maiden UEFA Super Cup title.
Chelsea have reached this final twice but lost to Bayern and Liverpool respectively in 2014 and 2020.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Villarreal
Chelsea has a number of players missing out but would still be a strong side for this final and we expect them to secure their 1st UEFA Super Cup title.
Villarreal’s poor pre-season form could haunt them in this one as they lack confidence and desire to win ahead of this clash.
A Chelsea victory is foreseen.
