City made to wait as United comeback to beat Villa 3-1, stay on 2nd place


Man Utd beat Villa: Manchester United recorded a 3-1 comeback win against Aston Villa on Sunday to delay City’s coronation.

First Half
Manchester United enjoyed a fast start to proceedings and put the home side under pressure with Shaw having a crack at goal which Martinez saved comfortably.
Martinez was once again called into action as he saved Fred’s strike.
Soon Villa began to absorb pressure and began to work their way into the contest.
Pogba came close to scoring but sent his strike wide of the post.
But with all the chances to United, it was Villa that struck first through Traoré.
The winger drilled a shot past Henderson to send the home side 1-0 ahead.
He edged away from Lindelöf and created room for himself before supplying a top-notch finish.

United began the second half in better fashion as they were quicker with their passing and movements.
This helped them soon as Manchester United got a route back into the game via penalty.
Douglas Luiz fouled Pogba to concede the penalty, which Bruno dispatched with utmost ease to equalize.

Within a few minutes, United doubled their lead through Greenwood.
The youngster received the ball from Wan-Bissaka and wheeled off Mings before firing home for 2-1.
ImageEdinson Cavani sealed the points in the end as he headed home from Rashford’s cross to send the Red Devils 3-1 ahead.
Trouble mounted for Villa as Watkins was sent off in the 89th minute for simulation. He received his second yellow to send Villa down to 10 men.
Man Utd beat Villa 3-1 as they completed another turnaround.
The Red Devils has won 31 points from losing positions this season and still continue to make City wait for the title.
United stay 2nd with this win while Villa drop to 11th.
