CSK vs PBKS Highlights: It was a clash of the Kings at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) were up against each other in the 11th match of the IPL 2022.

As CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja, winning the toss, elected to chase.

CSK started off really well as they were able to dismiss Mayank Agarwal in the very first over, courtesy of Mukesh Choudhary. Soon followed the wicket of Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who was dismissed by MS Dhoni in a run-out. Dhoni attempted a brilliant run-out to send Rajapaksa back to the pavilion.

Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan steered the innings for their team in the middle. And the former went on to score a 32-ball 60 followed by the latter scoring 33 runs.

Livingstone hit 10 boundaries during his time with the bat. Which consisted of five fours and an equal number of sixes. After the two were dismissed, Jitesh Sharma contributed a bit with the bat, and PBKS ended their innings, scoring 180 runs in 20 overs.

It was a nightmare for CSK when they went to chase the score. CSK lost their top-order batters – Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali – and their upper middle-order batters – Ambati Rayudu and skipper Ravindra Jadeja – for a very poor score.

Except for Rayudu, all other four wickets fell in the powerplay as CSK stood at 27/4 at the end of six overs.

While Ali and Jadeja were dismissed for a duck. Uthappa and Rayudu were both dismissed after scoring 13 runs each.

Ruturaj failed to perform for the third straight time as he walked back scoring just a run. MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube anchored the innings in the middle, but their efforts were just not enough.

The number of balls kept reducing and the asking rate kept increasing. Dube walked off scoring 57 runs in 30 balls. Liam Livingstone was not just good with the bat, but also with the ball as he dismissed Dwayne Bravo for a duck as well.

PBKS bowlers made a mark in the game as CSK’s dream of marking their first win at the tournament came crashing down, and the wait continued.

PBKS defeated CSK to mark their second victory in the game and handed CSK their third straight loss. This is the first time CSK have lost the first three games of an IPL season.
