Holes and Schick scored as Czech Republic entered the Quarter-finals of the Euro 2020.

FIRST HALF

Czech Republic kicked off the half and looked to control proceedings against a lively Netherlands side.

The game got off to a frantic start and was end-to-end stuff for the first 10 minutes.

Netherlands soon took themselves into the game and controlled possession in mid-field.

The Czech side defended well and kept the Netherlands attack at bay.

Soucek had the first opportunity of the match for Czech but couldn’t glance his header on target.

The Netherlands tried to force a chance against Vaclik but lacked in the final third as we reached half time with the score 0-0.

SECOND HALF

Netherlands began the second half knowing they had to improve if they were to test their opponents.

Malen should have broken the deadlock in the 52nd minute as he skipped past a couple of Czech defenders and was clean through on goal.

The Eindhoven striker tried to round the keeper but Vaclik was up to the task and made a superb block to keep him out.

Netherlands were down to 10 men as De Ligt was sent off for handling the ball.

The Juventus man deliberately handled the ball to stop the Czech forward from beating him.

Kalas received a deep corner and headed across goal towards Holes, who powered it home from close range for 1-0.

Patrik Schick doubled the lead for Czech in the 80th minute to make it 2-0.
