EFL final Result: Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0, clinch EFL Cup


Manchester City clinched the EFL Cup for a fourth successive season after they beat Tottenham 1-0 at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Aymeric Laporte’s header was enough for Pep Guardiola’s men to lift the cup.
ImageGuardiola’s side dominated proceedings throughout and deservedly won the contest. Tottenham, on the other hand were very poor.

City had 14 shots on goal, 4 of which on target as Pep’s side won.
Foden and Sterling had early chances but could not find a way through. Lloris was again called into action as he pushed away Foden’s shot.
Sterling missed another opportunity as he misdirected his chip shot.
Mahrez got into the thick of things as he whipped a shot across goal but narrowly missed the target.
The Algerian shot his next one over the crossbar. Lloris managed to tip his next shot onto the woodwork.
It was City all the way as Tottenham could not get the grip of the situation.
Mason’s first shot at Cup glory turned into a sorry state of affairs.
Both sides went in at halftime goalless as Pep was astounded to have not got a goal.

In the second half, Tottenham had their first chance on goal but Steffan managed to push away Lo Celso’s shot.
The American international enjoyed a magical evening as he was witnessed an array of attacks from his side.
Mahrez once again hit his effort but Lloris managed to get a strong hand to it.
Spurs could have been out of this in no time if not for Hugo Lloris.

A peach of a freekick to send City fans into jubilation.
Spurs could not match up to their opponents once the goal was scored and surrendered.
City held on for the last few minutes to win the match 1-0.
