El Clásico: Messi is done with FC Barcelona or will there be last laugh
Last night’s El Clásico defeat for FC Barcelona could well be the last nail in the coffin for their talismanic and legendary captain, Lionel Messi.
ImageAfter losing 2-1 last night to Real Madrid, Barcelona have dropped to 3rd in the league table with only a point’s difference between them and the top 2.

But having lost the crunch clash, the Blaugrana side have in all probability dashed their title hopes this season.
The motive for Messi was always to bring the UEFA Champions League silverware back home but has not been able to do the same since the 2014-15 season.
And with the title challenge all but over, we could well see the end of Lionel Messi in the Blaugrana jersey.
Barcelona have the Copa Del Rey final to play next against Athletic Club, which they would look to win to get their first silverware of the season.
The Barcelona captain has scored 23 goals and provided 8 assists this season in the league but it will all mean nothing if he does not get his hands on the title.
ImageMessi has now gone seven matches without scoring against Real Madrid and to make matters worse, his side have lost both the El Clásico matches this season.
With the way the season has panned out, we could very well see the departure of Lionel Messi from his boyhood club.
It may be a tough pill to swallow but the sun could be setting on Messi’s career at FC Barcelona come May.
