ENG vs IND 2nd Test Live: Indian openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma created history at Lord’s for the first time in 35 years
ENG vs IND: The first day of the second Test match between India and England. The match took place at the historic ground of Lord’s was in the name of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma.
While batting brilliantly, Rahul scored his sixth century of his Test career. While Rohit Sharma played a heart-wrenching innings of 83 runs. Both the openers gave a tremendous start to Team India by adding 126 runs for the first wicket. Due to which India scored 276 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets till the end of the day’s play.
The pair of Rohit and Rahul destroyed many big records at Lord’s. While also setting many new records.
This was the first time in the last 35 years that both the openers of the Indian team scored 75 or more while playing outside Asia. Along with this, Rahul scored a century at Lord’s ground after 31 years as an Indian opener.

At the same time, the opening pair of Rohit and Rahul made a century partnership for the first wicket. While playing for India at Lord’s for the first time since 1952. Rahul returned unbeaten on 127 runs and when he takes the field on the second day. Team India’s opener will try to score a double century.
Rahul started his innings very slowly and kept Rohit Sharma on more strike. Rohit played a brilliant innings of 83 runs in 145 balls while batting tremendously. However, the hitman missed his century and fell victim to James Anderson.
However, After losing the toss, opting to bat first, Rahul and Rohit gave a great start to Team India and both added 126 runs for the first wicket. After the dismissal of Rohit, Rahul continued to bat responsibly and together with captain Kohli added 117 runs for the third wicket.
After Virat’s dismissal, Ajinkya Rahane remained at the crease with Rahul till the end of the day’s play after facing 22 balls. Cheteshwar Pujara’s flop show continued in this match as well. And he returned to the pavilion after scoring just 9 runs. For England, James Anderson took two and Robinson took one wicket.
