ENG vs IND 2nd Test Live: Team India’s opener KL Rahul played a wonderful innings in the second test match being played between India and England. KL Rahul completed a brilliant century. His teammate Rohit Sharma missed out on scoring a century. But Rahul continued to bat.

Rahul completed his century in this match after facing 213 balls. During this, he hit nine fours and a six. As long as Rohit Sharma was at the crease. He was batting slowly, but when Rohit got out and returned to the pavilion. After that Pujara also got out quickly.

As captain Virat Kohli came to the crease, Rahul took the lead and completed his century. After returning to the Test team after a long time, Rahul once again proved his mettle.

KL Rahul Scores his sixth test century

KL Rahul has played 37 Test matches so far, scoring more than two thousand runs in his 62 innings. This is the sixth century of his Test career. KL Rahul once even reached close to a double century, but then he was dismissed after scoring 199 runs.

Along with this, Rahul has also scored 12 half-centuries. Rahul’s average is around 35 runs, while his strike rate is 55, which can be considered good according to the Test match.

After a long time, Rahul once again got a chance in the Test team and he capitalized on this opportunity well.  Earlier, Rahul was part of the Test team, when Team India toured the West Indies immediately after the World Cup. Although he could not score many runs then. And after that he was dropped from the Test team.

Indian Openers gave Solid start

Before this series, Rahul was not the first choice of the opener. But due to the exclusion of Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill. He got a chance and left his mark.

Earlier, on the basis of 83 runs by Rahul’s partner and opener Rohit Sharma, India had scored 157 runs for two wickets till the T-break on the first day of the second Test. The toss was delayed due to rain. England won the toss again and decided to bowl first.

Batting first, India got off to a solid start and Rohit and Rahul shared a 126-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Rohit Sharma missed a century and was dismissed for 83 runs in 145 balls with the help of 11 fours and a six. Cheteshwar Pujara, who came out as a new batsman, was dismissed after scoring nine runs off 23 balls with the help of a four.
