England WC 2022 Squad: Gareth Southgate announced England’s WC 2022 Squad for the Qatar event which will be led by their top-scorer, Harry Kane.

Harry Kane leads the Three Lions out in Qatar for the 2022 Edition of the FIFA World Cup as he hopes to end the nation’s 56 year-long wait for a major trophy.

The England 26-men WC squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: John Stones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Eric Dier, Conor Coady, Ben White, Luke Shaw, Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire and Kieran Trippier

Midfielders: Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Conor Gallagher, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson and Mason Mount

Forwards: Harry Kane (C), Marcus Rashford, Callum Wilson, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Bukayo Saka, James Maddison and Raheem Sterling

Once again, England head into a World Cup grabbing eye-balls from all quarters. The English team finished 4th place in the 2018 Russia edition and would be hoping to better their record this time around.

With a mix of in-form youth and experience, England travel to the Middle East with hopes galore from the nation’s fans.

Some players in Sancho, Abraham and Brentford’s Toney were unlucky not to make the cut but Southgate’s aims to use the 26 mentioned names to bring it home.

After coming so close in the Euro 2020, the Three Lions are aiming for a 1st World Cup in 56 years.

England is a part of Group B alongside the likes of Iran, U.S.A and Wales.

The fixtures as follows:

21st November: England vs Iran (06:30 PM IST), Khalifa International Stadium

26th November: England vs U.S.A (12:30 AM IST), Al Bayt Stadium

30th November: Wales vs England (12:30 AM IST), Ahmed bin Ali Stadium

England is expected to progress past the group stage but in recent times, have not shown good form ahead of the event.

They were relegated from the UEFA Nations League earlier this year. This is Southgate’s chance to become the nation’s hero as he aims to take England all the way this time.
