EPL result: Man City beat Crystal Palace 2-0, are one win away from title


Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday to put themselves on the brink of the title.
Goals from Aguero and Torres were enough to send City within 3 points off the crown.
It is also to be noted that if United do not win tomorrow against Liverpool, City would become champions tomorrow itself.

Pep’s men dominated proceedings from start to finish although they took their time to get into the game, but eventually were victorious.
ImageCity expectedly had most of the ball possession while Palace sat deep in their own half.
Benteke had the first big chance of the game but couldn’t get his header on target.
Ederson was called into action soon as he made a comfortable save to keep out Benteke’s strike.
Jesus scored for City but the referee denied him the goal due to an offside call.
City had the better possession but could not get more involved in the game. Palace defended very well to keep City away from scoring.
The half-finished goalless with either side having very few chances.

Palace’s resistance was finally broken as Aguero opened the scoring in the 57th minute.
ImageThe Argentine received a good ball from Mendy, before he took a touch and lifted it over Guaita to complete a smash of a finish.
City went 2-0 up in quick time as Torres scored within a minute of the restart.
ImageThe Spanish international latched onto the ball at the edge of the box before drilling home to double City’s lead.
ImageWith a 2-0 lead, City began to flex their muscles as Palace dropped deep.
Sterling nearly made it 3-0 but hit the post from a tight angle as Guaita was beaten.
Benteke made a last-ditch block as he denied Laporte’s header from going in.
Zinchenko came close to his first of the night but the defender’s shot curled just wide of the target.
Aguero made Guaita stick out a leg as the Palace keeper kept out the Argentine’s effort.
With an array of chances for City, the game finished 2-0 in favour of the visitors.
Pep’s men thoroughly dominated and deserved the result. City now await PSG for the return leg in the Champions League semi-final.
Palace visit Sheffield United next Saturday.
