EPL Result: Spurs beat Wolves 2-0 as Kane and Højberg score, rise to 6th in table


Tottenham beat Wolves: Tottenham comfortably beat Wolves 2-0 at home in the Premier League on Sunday and rose to 6th in the table.
Kane and Højberg’s goals ensured a routine three points for Mason’s men as they got back to winning ways.

FIRST HALF
Tottenham began with the early possession and almost made an instant impact with a shot from harry Kane.
But the ball cannoned off the post and Wolves cleared the danger.
Patricio was called into action as he made a good save from a tight angle against Son’s effort.
Coady made a last-ditch effort and blocked Kane’s header off the line to keep Wolves in the contest.
Even with all the attempts, it was still a slow game from both sides with neither showing real attacking urgency.
But finally, as half-time approached, Spurs took the lead through Harry Kane, who scored his 22nd goal of the campaign.
ImageImageThe English international latched onto Højbjerg through ball and took his time before scoring to give Tottenham a 1-0 lead on the cusp of half-time.
Tottenham were on top for most part and deserved their lead.
Wolves sat deep and had few chances but did not test Lloris with any conviction.
At halftime, Spurs led 1-0.
SECOND HALF
Spurs had the first chance of the half through Reguilon, but Particio got a hand and tipped the ball over the bar.
Harry Kane could have made it 2-0 but his shot was tipped onto the post by the Wolves keeper.
The rebound fell to Alli, but he too hit the post and missed the chance.
Spurs push for the second goal was rewarded when Højbjerg made it 2-0.
ImageBale’s initial shot was saved by Patricio but Højberg raced in and fired home from close range to double the lead.
ImageIt was Reguilon’s creativity and persistence to keep the ball within play that aided Spurs’ second goal.
Wolves had decent effort but were just not able to test Lloris.
Tottenham comfortably saw the game out and got three important points.
