EPL Result: Werner strikes as Chelsea beat West Ham 1-0, stay fourth


Chelsea beat West Ham United: Chelsea asserted their dominance on the 4th place after they secured a 1-0 win against West Ham United in the Premier League.
Timo Werner’s goal two minutes from half time was enough as the visitors won.
Chelsea began the stronger side as they dominated possession for quiet a while in the first half. West Ham went nowhere with their approach.
The Blues’ dominance paid off as Timo Werner got onto the scoresheet to break the deadlock two minutes from the half.

ImageWerner latched onto Chilwell’s ball across the goal and slotted home comfortably.
Image This was Werner 6th goal this season and a very crucial one in the race for the top 4.
West Ham were pretty poor and lacked direction and composure in the first half.
In the second half, they were much brighter and packed a punch as they moved forward.
Werner should have made it 2-0 to the Blues but trickled his shot wide after Fabianski spilled Mount’s earlier strike.
The miss left Tuchel shocked and surprised as he knew the importance of it.
Mount made a surprise effort at goal which was smothered by Fabianski.
West Ham could not create any chances and things became worse for them when Balbuena was sent off.

ImageThe defender booted the ball away but caught Chilwell on the follow through with his studs accidently. VAR did not feel so and sent off the Paraguayan.
This all but ended West Ham’s chances of salvaging anything from the game.

This was the second defeat in a row for the home side after last week’s loss to Newcastle United.
West Ham stay 5th after tonight’s loss.
