ENGLAND EURO 2020 CAMPAIGN

The Three Lions have reached the Euro 2020 finals as one of the only two sides unbeaten in the competition.

It is only fitting that they face Italy, who also stand unbeaten in the competition in the Sunday final at Wembley.

If England managed to do the unthinkable, this could create a number of records for the men in White.

We analyze the records in store for the Three Lions.

Maiden title

If England manage to defeat Italy in the Euro 2020 final, the Three Lions will be crowned the European Championship winners for the first time in their history.

England’s best performance was in Euro 1996, when they reached the semi-finals.

After winning the 1966 FIFA World Cup, England are yet to win a major World/European title.

Clean-sheets

Jordan Pickford is all set to win the Golden Glove in the Euro 2020 for 5 clean-sheets.

Another clean-sheet and he will hold the record for the most clean-sheets in a single tournament.

Currently, he is tied with Iker Casillas for most clean-sheets in one tournament.

Goal scoring record

If Harry Kane can score twice in the final, he will win the Euro 2020 Golden Boot.

He also can surpass Alan Shearer for most goals by an Englishman in a single tournament if he scores a brace.

Shearer scored 7 goals at the Euros and if Kane scored a hat-trick in the final, he will equal the tally for most goals by an Englishman.

Major Tournament goals

Kane equaled Linekar’s record for most goals in major tournaments for England, 10.

He can surpass the Ex-English forward if he scores against Italy in the final. This will be a record held only by him.

Least goals conceded in a single tournament

England can become the first side to win the Euros with the least goals conceded. They conceded their first and only goal of the Euro 2020 in the semi-final.
