Everton 2-2 Tottenham: Everton draw 2-2 against Tottenham spurs in EPL

Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho did not say much after his team, held to a 2-2 draw when they visited Everton’s headquarters in the Premier League.  According to him, a draw was a fair result for both teams.

Two of Tottenham’s goals in a match at Goodison Park, Friday local time or Saturday morning. Harry Kane who managed to take advantage of two blunder situations at the host’s back line to score both goals. Meanwhile, two Everton goals were scored by Gylfi Sigurdsson. As one of them from a penalty, which according to Mourinho should not have happened.

“It was a very tight match. I know they scored one goal from a penalty that shouldn’t have happened, but maybe this is a result that really reflects the course of the game”. Mourinho said after the match as reported by Tottenham’s official website.

The former Manchester United coach continued, “The match was very tight, a lot of scrambling for the ball, high intensity, fighting in midfield, dangerous attacks from both teams, which were both under control thanks to the same good defensive coordination.”

After the 2-2 draw, Kane had the chance to complete the hat-trick if not for his header hitting the crossbar.  Conversely, Everton also had a good chance through Joshua King. who, brilliantly countered by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.  “We can win, we can also lose at the end of the match. But this may be a fair result,” concluded Mourinho.

The draw prevented the two teams from fighting for the top four of the Premier League standings.  Tottenham stuck in seventh place with a collection of 50 points, one point ahead and one strip above Everton, who had one game in savings.
