GT vs LSG Highlight: Gujarat Titans have won their first match of IPL. They defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets in the fourth match of the tournament.

Batting first after losing the toss, Lucknow scored 158 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat won the match by scoring 161 for 5 in 19.4 overs.

Bad start by Gujarat Titans in reply to 159 runs

The Gujarat team had lost 2 wickets at the score of 15, achieving the target of 159 runs in Lucknow. Shubman Gill scored 0 and Vijay Shankar became the victim of Dushmanta Chamira after scoring 4.

After this, Matthew Wade and captain Hardik Pandya shared a 57-run partnership for the third wicket. Krunal Pandya put an end to the partnership by dismissing Hardik. Hardik 33 and Matthew Wade were dismissed for 30 runs.

David Miller and Rahul Tewatia ensured victory
After losing 4 wickets for 78 runs, Gujarat Titans needed 81 runs off 49 balls to win. Then David Miller and Rahul Tewatia added 60 runs in 34 balls.

Together, both of them scored 22 runs from the third over of Deepak Hooda with the help of 2 sixes and 2 fours. Miller was dismissed after scoring 30 runs in 21 balls.

But Rahul Tewatia breathed his last after finishing the match. He returned unbeaten on 40 off 24 balls.

Gujarat needed 11 runs in the last over. Abhinav Manohar, playing his first IPL, ensured victory by hitting four boundaries in the first two balls of Avesh Khan. The rest of the work was completed by Rahul Tewatia by hitting a four. Abhinav remained unbeaten on 15 runs. Dushmanta Chamira took 2 wickets for 22 runs for the opposition team.

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul lost his wicket on the very first ball after being invited to bat before Gujarat Titans. He was caught by Mohammed Shami in the hands of Matthew Wade. After this Quinton de Kock scored 7, Evin Lewis scored 10 and Manish Pandey scored 6.

Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni took over the innings

At one point, the team of Lucknow Super Giants was struggling after losing 4 wickets at the score of 29. Then Deepak Hooda and IPL debutant Ayush Badoni took the team’s score to 150.

Both scored 87 runs in 68 balls for the fifth wicket. Hooda scored the fourth half-century of his IPL life, scoring 55 runs in 41 balls. During this, his bat hit 6 fours and 2 sixes.

After this, Badoni scored 54 runs in his first match, hitting fifty. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in this innings. While Krunal Pandya contributed 21 runs.

Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets while bowling lethally for Gujarat Titans. He walked Lucknow captain KL Rahul on the very first ball of the match. While Varun Aaron took 2 and Rashid Khan took 1 wicket.
