India vs England 2nd Test: 3 things India need to maintain to avoid the loss

India vs England 2nd test match will start on 13th February, 9:30 AM IST. The match once again will be played at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. India needs to win this test match to play the finals of the ICC test championship against New-Zealand.

Kevin Pietersen warned India just before the start of this series. In a famous tweet that he shared, he said England will make it difficult for India. Though it sounded like a friendly maneuver, the England team has proved Pietersen right so far.

Small tweaks in strategies, a couple of changes in playing XI are expected from India. However, there are three things that India must need to maintain throughout this match to win it.

1: A solid opening:

First and foremost, India needs a solid opening batting. It’s important not to lose the first wicket early in the day. India’s middle-order is struggling to hold the innings and once the wickets start falling, India just loses the momentum, and to make a comeback from there against any top-quality team is not always easy.

2: Indian pacers need to step up:

Indian quick bowlers contributed with only 7 wickets among them in the first test. Whereas Anderson and company took 10 scalps and shared the load fairly with spinners. It is about the time when team India needs the Bumrah factor and the experience of Ishant Sharma.

3: Senior batsmen need to be more responsible:

Indian seniors like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and, Virat Kohli need to stand and deliver. The team needs them the most now and they certainly need to show why they are labeled as the best batting line-up in the world.
