IPL 2021: 3 Oldest and 2 Youngest Players to Ever Play in the IPL. They say age is just a number, but there is no particular age limit to play in the IPL as long as the skill and effort is put in. lets take a stroll down memory lane and look at 3 oldest and 2 youngest players ever played in the IPL.

3 Oldest Players:

Brad Hogg (45 Years):

Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg was a part of the IPL with KKR in 2013, his ability with the ball earned him a position in the IPL back in 2011/2012 season with the Rajasthan Royals.

He played a total of 21 IPL games and picked up 23 wickets. He was at the age of 45 in that season, the oldest player featured till date.

Pravin Tambe (44 Years):

The only Indian player among the top five oldest players to ever feature in the IPL. KKR bought him at his base price for the IPL 2020, as he was disqualified that year by the BCCI for featuring in the T10 league which is meant for retired players will be looking forward in this season of the IPL. And if he gets into the playing XI for the IPL season 2021, he will be the oldest player to ever play the IPL at the age of 49 years.

The best part is that, Pravin Tambe has no prior professional experience, but domestic experience in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Muttiah Muralitharan (42 Years):

He has featured in 3 different teams across 7 seasons in the IPL. The last few years Muttiah spent at RCB. The off-spinner feature in 66 IPL matches and claimed 63 wickets.

Murali was 42 years old when he appeared for his last game for the RCB where he conceded 19 runs in 2 overs against KKR. Murali played only 5 matches in 2014 and the last one with KKR.

2 Youngest Players:

Prayas Ray Barman (16 Years):

In the 2019 edition of the IPL, he became the youngest debutant in the history of IPL for RCB at the age of 16 for a price of 1.5 crores.

Signed for his performance for the Bengal domestic circuit, having played only 1 game for RCB. He was left unsold and will have every opportunity in the coming years.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (17 Years):

The Afghani spinner was a hot topic during the 2018 IPL Auction. He made headlines when he became the youngest player in the history to get 5 wickets in an ODI match.

He enjoyed the first season in the IPL with 14 wickets from 11 games and due to injuries was inconsistent for the KXIP. Now with the SRH will look to regain and hopefully get in form and paly first class cricket.
