IPL 2021: 5 most capped Indian players in IPL who has not become captain even once


Indian Premier League has provided a platform to perform to thousands of players over the years. Many players came and vanished. However, some players have been there throughout the tournament’s 14-year old history. Here is the list of the 5 most capped Indian players who never became captains.

5: Amit Mishra (150 matches)

Amit Mishra has a variety of deliveries in his arsenal. He sits on the second spot in the list of most wicket-takers in IPL history. Despite representing three different IPL teams, Mishra has never captained any side. He currently represents Delhi Capitals.

4: Piyush Chawla (164 matches)

Piyush Chawla currently represents CSK in IPL.

Chawla has represented three different franchises over the last thirteen years. Gujrat Lions and Kolkata Knighriders being the other two teams. He is among the all-time highest wicket-takers in IPL. Chawla used to be the go-to man for Gautam Gambhir during his KKR days.

3: Yusuf Pathan (174 matches)

The Elder of the Pathan-brothers is known for his fearless style of play. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals when they clinched the first-ever IPL silverware. Yusuf currently represents Sunrisers Hyderabad.

2: Ravindra Jadeja (184 matches)

Ravindra Jadeja was also part of the Rajasthan Royals’ title-winning team. He is one of the best all-rounders in the world right now and has been part of CSK for many years now. Jadeja never captained in IPL.

1: Robin Uthappa (189 matches)

Robin Uthappa was an integral part of the 2007 T20 world-cup winning squad. He has also represented multiple franchises in IPL. Uthappa has been amongst the top scorers’ list on more than one occasion but he has yet to lead a team.
